another one from me...

dear diabetes fairy

please stop making me go low. Its been what...every day for the past week and half?!

Seriously, earlier on I'd had a couple of glasses of wine after having a BG of 12 at dinner and found myself at 1.9...and I felt nothing...stupid diabetes. I hate you right now. Am seriously getting fed up of it. Appointment with the nurse on wednesday so am gunna have a proper talk with her then, but jesus, STOP WITH THE CONSTANT LOWS ALREADY!

(oh and while your at it...take this irritating teenagers away from my house who make me want to drink myself into a stupour. I was 17 once but i swear i was never THAT BAD!)

no love

me

(and no kisses, cuz you're annoying me THAT badly!)

Hi Sam, sorry to hear that the pesky fairy is trying a bit too hard with the pixie dust to keep your levels down - I'm surprised the stress of the teenagers isn't keeping them high! I've been battling lows for the last three months, constantly adjusting my insulin downwards but it's still catching me out most days. Hopefully the DSN will use her wisdom to help you keep the fairy in check!🙂

I reckon there must be a poem in that....?

Hope you feel better soon Sam, I'd imagine the weather must be playing a part in the lows?

Hi Sam.
Sorry the fairies are being unkind to you and that your lows will soon sort themselves out.

I found a good fairy last night..after 3 years of trying, I have been unable to bring my breakfast sugars below 7.5, last night at supper time my sugars were 8.5 (highest supper time levels ever), I was so annoyed, I decided to pig out before bed, instead of my ussual 2 slices of toast, I had chicken dippers with a BBQ dip and roast potato wedges. And guess what, my sugars at breakfast this morning were 6.9, my lowest in 3 years.
I'm not for one minute suggesting that anyone should try this, just pointing out the strange happenings with diabetes, and why we sometimes get frustrated and annoyed when the opposite of what we expect happens..
John.
