Thank you so much for your kind comments everyone!!

Northerner - I have never really thought about contacting anyone really as I don't think I am that special really I just had a job to do and was lucky enough to do it lol. If you think it would help others though please feel free to put them in touch and I would be happy to help in any way I can.

If anyone wants to see before and after pics I would be happy to so send me over where to send them and I will get on to it 🙂

Bob

I'm sure it would help others Bob - see what a great inspiration you are to people here! 🙂 I will pass your details on and hopefully someone will be in touch 🙂

Thank you 🙂

Just as an aside - I have been running around to family and friends all weekend with the news and this is the first time I have put my feet up! Anyway - you may laugh at this but hows about this for a coincidence. Since day one I have listened to music to motivate me both with exercise and in general. I played Bon Jovi constantly (yes ok stop laughing now! lol) - anyway in the last hour the following three things have all happened -

I signed up for Stoke half marathon on June 9th
I cracked on this was same day as the start of 2013 Diabetes Week so will use this to raise sponsorship.
My other half text me to say that as a treat to celebrate the news she has bought tickets to see Bon Jovi on - yep June 9th!!!!

Wierd!!! 🙂

Serendipity! 🙂 Hope you don't cramp up at the concert after your run! 😱

Wow bob that's amazing - well done :D

Well, what can one say. It just shows what can be done when you are truly motivated.

Well done, an amazing result

Such an inspirational story, well done. I've just started to jog (would be an offence to runners to call it running) and am hoping it will improve things and agreed with go to give a few months more before launching me on statins... Thanks for making me feel I can improve things

Jealousy, clearly Bob! :D

Well done.

But, I am puzzled as I thought diabetes was not reversible

However, you are brilliant!!!

Bob still has diabetes, but the changes he has made have meant that his pancreas is now able to cope, particularly with the changes to his diet. If he was to regain the weight he has lost and go back to eating unhealthily his insulin resistance would increase and his blood sugars would become difficult to control again.
