Welcome @Michaelw 🙂 I think you should speak to your GP for advice. As I’m sure you know, it’s extra-important to look after your feet if you have diabetes, so anything like that needs checking out.

Do you have any other symptoms?

It could be an infection . Best toget the. checked out asp , you see we have to be very careful with our tootsies even if we have only had diabetes a short time .
Please let us know how you get on

Thank you inka and ljc I will see my doctor and let you know

You’re very welcome @Michaelw 🙂 It could be something very simple but it’s always worth getting checked out and kept an eye on to make sure it heals up ok.

Hi Michael and welcome from me too.

Hope you manage to get an appointment and get those toes examined soon. I know it has been difficult for some people to get GP appointments so if you struggle to get one, some people have found it helpful to take photos of anything they have concerns about and email it to the GP surgery with a brief description of their concerns, in your case, including the information that you are diabetic. If you are a bit of a tech dinosaur like me, perhaps a family member or friend could do that for you.
In the mean time it is important to keep your Blood Glucose levels as well managed as possible and perhaps improve the circulation in your feet and toes by keeping them moving. Maybe just 5-10mins every hour whilst you are sitting watching TV or whatever of actively moving them, like gently tapping your toes and heels on the floor (with slippers or other footwear on to protect them) and clenching and releasing or wriggling your toes or one of those static pedaling machines. Anything like that to encourage the blood to flow as that will keep the tissue healthier.

Let us know how things go @Michaelw

Look after those tootsies!

Hi Inca and loc I had my gp examine toes today and said its not infectious and said if I get any more like it to go back and see him he said it should clear up thank you both for your advice I am glad I joined you

Hi inka sorry I am late getting back to you the dark red blood spots on my big toes is clearing up gradually thanks again for your concern while you are on I wondered if anyone has tried the Revitive foot massager and if they are good for diabetes

After my first AZ jab my lower legs and feet were swollen and I was prescribed antibiotics twice. As I have some knowledge of herbal remedies, I got some ginko biloba tablets, as they improve circulation and took them for 2 months - feet and legs are now just fine once more, but the last joint in one toe seems to have fused. I have stopped them now as it seems I no longer need the help. I noticed that the skin on the back of my hands was peeling and took that as an indication that I was over doing things.
Check with your doctor about taking ginko extract if you think that your circulation could do with a little help restoring normality to your toes.

I’m pleased the redness on your toes is clearing up @Michaelw 🙂 I hope they’re completely back to normal soon.

The Revitive foot massager has been mentioned a few times on this forum. I think if I was you, I’d check with your GP or nurse before using anything like that. It’s always best to be cautious.
