The NHS is appealing to thousands of members of the public to sign up and become a reservist to help clear the backlog caused by the pandemic.
Roles on offer include taking part in the Covid vaccination programme, with a fourth round of jabs lined up for the most vulnerable this spring, and helping patients recently discharged from hospital with their ongoing care.
NHS reservists will be asked to work 30 days a year and will be paid for the work.
The NHS reportedly has a shortage of around 100,000 staff, which has been exacerbated by pressures on healthcare workers caused by the pandemic.
A total of 17,000 people have already signed up as NHS reservists under the pilot project launched last year.
Anyone can sign up regardless of whether they have experience in healthcare. Full training will be provided, NHS England said.
