Hundreds of families will have to change their GP after their doctors? surgery suddenly terminated its NHS contract.
The Bridgewater Road Surgery in Altrincham will close its doors on September 27.
Health chiefs say all of the practice?s estimated 2,000 patients will be provided with an alternative GP.
It is unclear why the surgery chose to end its contract, but a letter sent to patients says it was a ?difficult decision? and followed a number of discussions with NHS England.
The letter from says patients will be contacted within the next couple of weeks to confirm details of their new practice.
But it says they still have a right to choose their own alternative GP in the area.
