Kaylz those numbers (especially after toast! ) are pretty awesome. you will get spikes and dips around eating food and bolusing, thats just the way the game works. The way i see those results, is dipping to 4.9 is pretty much perfect, a different finger and it could have been 5 or 5.2, those varying meter reading happen on different fingers. Then raising back up to 6 suggest to me the slow absorption of wholemeal bread and that coupled with peanut butter has slowed it down a bit more. 6 is a perfect number. So be happy that thats where you ended up after brekki 🙂 pat on the back. i think you have nailed it! No hypo and no high= gold star 🙂 that is not even close to being considered a yo yo, now... if it was a hypo then shooting up to 20 then going hypo again, then yes i would consider that a yo yo. I know they say 5.5 is the magic number, but there is a reason the diabetic community call those unicorns lol (you hardly ever if at all see it ) To put into perspective i just ate a thai red curry and spiked to 15 mmol because a) i forgot to pre bolus and B) it was white rice. I'm not stressing though, thats life these things happen and its on its way back down. Its all about doing what you know is the correct way to do things and hoping for a good result. i only have myself to blame... (but i'm not blaming myself because i've lived with this so long its all second nature and the occasional high and low are going to happen.). Do you keep a record book? (not just on the meter) i mean like a diary of some kind, you could draw a trend graph, 2 horizontal lines and make the top line your high limit and the bottom one your low limit and plot your bg results on that. it's like bg bowling , staying between the bumpers. That's all this type 1 game is about, staying between the lines... i've gone on long enough lol , but food for thought x
