There was a phone in on the local radio station at lunchtime. (Local MP) also a GP said the MP in question was daft or words to that effect. Pointed out type 2 was not always lifestyle induced.
Intresting though as the show presenter said his was and he pays for his prescriptions by choice due to this.

Others kept on saying diabetics had to avoid sugar and fat 🙄 So I sent the presenter an email to correct this.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Well I scouted around for a disease choice and as a 7 stone, t-total, vegetarian obviously settled on this one. Just what I deserve, considering my lifestyle. Cannot stress how much I am enjoying the experience (not). Think it only fair that, as I have worked all my life and paid considerable amounts in National Insurance, I should additionally pay privately for medication.

And on the day that I spent on a hospital trolley in A & E after being diagnosed as a diabetic, I met my diabetic nurse for the first time.

"Apart the exception of natural sugars, is a diabetic diet 100% sugar free?"

"No, most foods have some form of sugar in them."
