I have been debating for a while whether we need to do any basal tweaks overnight, things seem a little erratic. In the very early hours of Sunday daughter was low and and I had to put a temp basal on for a couple of hours to bring her up again (easier than trying to wake her up and feed her!). So was watching closely last night, 4.9 and level when I checked, all good, and then when we got up we got this:

I wish I could say that is all down to my superior skill but it is a complete fluke!! The earlier bit of the night you can't see was a bit more wobbly but almost all within the blue line. No doubt now I’ve found something to be pleased about it will all go wrong again tonight and she'll either have the hypo from hell or be sky high 🙄

Line was about to be ruined anyway, she is enjoying Rice Krispies for breakfast at the moment, they are evil little devils that shoot her straight into the teens even though we don’t add any extra sugar to them. So our mini project for the next few days is to experiment with bolusing earlier to see if we can reduce the spike. I think it was about 25 minutes this morning so we'll see what the graph looks like later! Guaranteed though if we manage to get that right then some other part of the day will go spectacularly wrong, that's just how it goes 🙄

Now anyone would be proud of that flat line (Those minor wobbles really don’t count at all)
Obviously it is the excellent skills in adjusting things.
Yes it will wobble again for absolutely no reason (or perhaps because of rice crispies!!)
but nice to have a good one
Enjoy the success.

Breakfast spike went to 9.4 which was a vast improvement, usually she shoots up to at least 15 after that breakfast! 😱😱
So a great morning so far, it's nice to have these minor successes sometimes, thank you to all who have read this for allowing me to share my happy moment 🙂

What's that saying about pride before a fall though, we shall have to be very careful now, probably the rest of the week will go horribly wrong!

You should completely be proud with the small wins, it is very important, for the sanity.
Well done!

I got your back; the shower pump has broken, Smallest Madeline’s Uni has lost her accommodation forms, and my slice of toast sent me bonkers this morning*. That’s your three things, done em for you!

*not literally bonkers, I’ve not been foaming at the mouth and biting plumbers or anything, just cruising along at 11 on one slice of wholemeal lol. Reckon that DF has been having fun here and leaving your daughter alone for a bit.

Oh you are so kind @Madeline , thank you for looking after us :D
Hope your week gets better!

It is already! The shower pump is mended, was limescale, we have resent Small’s forms, and Eldest has just rung to say she will be home for my birthday. And we had fish and chips for dinner, and my small portion was very manageable and hopefully won’t send me high.

Week needs to now play nicely and the fairy should go on holiday somewhere far away. Like Pluto, I hear Pluto’s lovely this time of year, if you’re a fairy.
