So thinking to the summer (in the hope that we get one) I don't really eat much hot food so dinner and tea's are likely to be sandwiches and salad with cold chicken or meat etc but breakfast I'm planning on possibly greek style yoghurt probably flavoured with honey etc and some nuts thrown in with it like pecan halves or something or I like granola so anybody any idea what's the best granola to be looking for x or any other suggestions are welcome too 🙂 x

I know yonks ago, there was a 'Lizzi's' granola, that people seemed to all like. Not a thing either of us has tried or ever been offered - so no idea myself.

Lizi's granola for me. It's a bit pricey @ 3.69 but made with unsweetened almond milk gives me quite a flat line until lunch time. NB tesco sometimes have it on offer for 2.69

I'm not really a granola fan but Greek yoghurt with a drizzle of honey, some pecans, almonds and walnuts is my idea of heaven. I also make a batch of porridge and stick it in the fridge then eat that cold with a blob of Greek yoghurt and chopped nuts. It's lovely, but I have to confess I am a bit obsessed with porridge 🙄

I love porridge but never done a 2 hour test with it so don't know if it actually works for me, I've never thought about trying it cold before either x

We get our granola from Aldi. Husband prefers it and it's up to a half cheaper!

I don't have an Aldi, will check Lidl's out at some point x

Another fan of Lizzi's granola here. Much less of a spike for me than other types. Surprisingly I have recently discovered that bananas don't appear to spike me - if eaten with a tablespoonful of ground flax for breakfast, either with Greek yoghurt or just soya milk.

Yes, I've tried it too - it's quite nice but takes a bit of chewing.

I've found some stuff online made by Dorset Cereals their Honey granola only has 20g carbs per 45g serving so hoping I can get my hands on some of that somewhere 🙂 x

I usually let it soak a bit before I eat it.
I didn't think of that...o_O...but Mr Marten has started soaking his jumbo oats 😎

I rarely have it as a full portion on it's own; usually mix it with a protein Weetabix, yoghurt or muesli.
