Hi. Back in the early part of the year I bombarded you all with questions and moans about our frustration with all this diabetes stuff. Not been on here for a while - won't bore you with the details - but just wanted to say we seem to be, finally, getting sorted. Our adult son, the needle phobic, who had all sorts of mixed messages from medical staff going on is, I think, at last getting somewhere!

They have finally decided he is a type 2. He is now on insulin once a day, along with tablets. He has had to conquer his needle phobia pdq! The DSN was very supportive. So, with a crash course reminder about the hypnotherapy he had in his teens to deal with the phobia, he is doing ok. I am very proud of him! :D

His glucose levels are finally beginning to come down (8 first thing instead of 12!)and he can now see some positive results for his efforts and that has helped. His blood was much improved too, so all positive.

I am still trying to get my head around all the information about carbohydrate and sugar and to deal with all the mis-information and myths surrounding diabetes. It's a bit a mine field! Then there is the 8 page form for the DVLA....😱

So just wanted to thank you all for being there when we needed you.

That's excellent news Sally, thank you for the update - I'm very pleased to hear he is much improved and very well done to him for overcoming his phobia! Hopefully, it's nowhere near as bad as he had imagined.

Hope things continue to improve, and remember you are welcome here any time! 🙂

Thank you agian for the support! Hopefully one day we too will be able to support others! 🙂 I'm a great believer in 'what goes round comes round!'

Hi Sally,
glad to hear such a positive update 🙂
