Crustless quiche is fine - I had chicken and asparagus quiche last night
Apples - you need to check Probably OK in small quantities but you should check the impact on your BG

Snacks - I love pork scratchings and chunks of cheese. Boiled eggs and olives are also popular.

I will eat the inside of a quiche, rarely anything there to worry about, unless there was potato included. If the pastry looked good, I might have a tiny taste of the crispy rim, but would leave all the base, "not worth the carbs", to misquote Prue Leith.

I rarely eat a whole apple (or pear, plum, peach, orange), but, depending on size, I will have 1/4 or 1/2. I have a helpful non-D husband who is happy to eat the rest, but you could use clingfilm.

Thankyou for answering I’ll defiantly be careful , I love my quiches but i can’t have batter anyways as I have ibs so I have to be careful what I eat . I been snacking on nuts and pumpkin seeds and cheese (again have to be limited as my ibs is an issue ) . I’ll defianetly note down what you lovelies have said

Can we eat bread ??? I missing on having a sandwich or even just a slice of toast in the mornings and it’s driving me insane :( . If so what type of bread is low carb ??? What about sourdough bread ???

The only way to find out really is to eat it and see what happens to your blood sugar

Sadly we all react in different ways to different foods. It is as others have said a case of trying it and checking your glucose levels both before and after to see how you react.

I too eat 1/2 a piece of fruit with my breakfast and the other half the next day.
I have chosen an approximate number of carbs to eat at each meal and choose things that fit.
For a sandwich I use whi’emal but now load half a slice and then really enjoy my sandwich.
Test, review, test review....

Many on here find it useful to start an honest food diary, with the amounts of carbs at each.
this alongside BG readings before meals and two hours after can arm you with information that helps you make decisions about changes you can make to diet and /or portion sizes.
