Noticed it on prominent display last night as she greeted Trump at Blenheim Palace and I got to a-wondering...

  • Does she wait 24 hours before activating a new sensor, or does she wait the suggested Abbott hour?
  • Has she ever had a duff sensor, and if so has she called Abbott for a replacement?
  • Has she had one fall off?
  • Does she place her reader on the table when attending function lunches/dinners?
  • Does she get it on prescription?
  • How often does she do fingerprick tests?
  • Does she act immediately when she sees an arrow pointing straight down?
  • Does she ever have an overnight flatfish that she wants to share with other diabetics?
  • Does she actually do the sharing, and where?
  • How good is she at carb counting, and do British/foreign caterers at functions/events provide her with carb counts?
  • Is she on any of the Libre Facebook groups?
  • Does she ever sleep on her sensor and get a rubbish reading overnight?
  • Does she upload her stats to try and predict her HbA1c?
  • Does she get nervous before her review?
  • Does stress make her levels go up or down?
I'll stop there - any more? 😱 🙂

I don’t upload my stats to predict my HbA1c, that facility is on the phone app.

I wonder who does the contacting Abbott for her, and does she have to do it once a month like the rest of us?

Daughter found a photo of her sensor online ( sorry, don't know where she saw it) where you could see part of the outline of a previous sensor, suggesting she'd stuck the new one overlapping the site of the previous. Which suggests she doesn't put the next one on until the current one's ended. (unless the dirty mark was from the previous previous, if you see what I mean, in which case I'd have thought she'd have scrubbed off the mark.)

Twitter was full of speculation as to what it was, some people suggesting it delivered insulin, some correctly guessing it was to do with monitoring. Or that it was the device that controls the whole Maybot android.

I wonder if she alternates arms? When I was using them I could have a red patch for weeks afterwards. As suggested though, it might be a download port where the Cabinet access the White Papers... 😱 🙂

Found the pic, I never put mine on so close to the last or even last but one ( and if I was going to be exposing my arms on global TV, I think I'd have attacked the dirty mark with a bit of surgical spirit, that usually does the trick).

There is a picture taken from the back where you can see a mark on her other arm too so I guess she does swap. The report also said "glucose monitoring patches are available on the NHS". If you're VERY lucky!

Yes, it completely ignores the difficulties people can have getting them on prescription! 🙄 There's often an assumption in the media that if a technology is technically 'available on the NHS' then it's available as a matter of course, not rationing - same happens with pumps and CGMs 🙄

It's pretty commendable that she doesn't hide the fact she has one and that people shouldn't be embarrassed about the D. Slap me, as I just said something nice about her ugh.

I know what you mean 🙂 Whilst I don't agree with her as a politician, I do have respect for her ability to do such an intensely difficult job whilst clearly not letting the D get in her way. I have considerably fewer obstacles to good glucose management put in my way.

It was the first thing I noticed last night just before I realised how high the split was on her dress! That would have stressed me out! :D

I know the Libre is a good bit of kit. Her head must be doing tricks at the mo ?😉

Didn’t notice either but wondered what she was doing at top of steps. Though she was showing off her shoes. Not a lover of her but I liked her dress

Great, she's got a Libre. 🙄 She's still a Tory and a useless Prime Minister.

To be clear I don’t like Theresa May’s politics or her policy very much.

But come on, whoever she is, this: ‘ugh look she’s doing it wrong you can see the lines on her arm she’s not cusing it properly’ mentality feels a little bit like opening one of those cheap magazines where they comment on celebrities spare tyres and ‘spot’ them eating beef burgers.

I wouldn’t want someone doing it to me, in fact I’d say very firmly that it’s none of our business to assess our prime ministers use of her own medical gadgets.

The irony that she uses a libre and yet the nhs is going down the tubes on her watch, on the other hand, is definitely fair game

I don't think any of the comments about positioning of her Libre imply that we think she's doing it wrong. The fact is, there is very little information enclosed with a Libre sensor as to how you should space out a sequence of sensors, and anything that can be gleaned from others using them provokes useful discussion. (I've always done it on guesswork, not having had the benefit of any input from my diabetes team.)
I'm sorry that my comments on using surgical spirit to remove the mark offended you. It was meant to be a light hearted remark about what I'd do, and in no way intended to be 'Libre shaming'.

I honestly don’t know what the fuss is about Maybot’s sensor. Mine is currently visible with the T shirt I’m wearing. Sarah Devine’s sensor was visible when she was belting England’s bowlers all over the field yesterday in the women’s 1 day international with New Zealand. Not a single commentator mentioned it. Better example of a T1 than Maybot, if you ask me.

Tomorrow I’m going to tape the end of a nice white Apple charging wire to my sensor and plug the other end into a USB slot on the mobility scooter. Together with my wrap around black sunglasses, that should set folk gawping.😎:D
