Just been to see a doctor at short notice about something else, however some of yesterdays blood test results are in. Most notably the HbA1c result and Cholesterol.

HbA1c is now 34.

Yessss a real result after a lot of hard work.

Of course there has to be a downer thrown in too. Can't be too happy !

HDL 1.78 which they said was fine but the LDL was 3.66 which they said was a little high.

Hmm anyone with sufficient knowledge and understanding want to tell me if that is the case and what it should really be.

At diagnosis it was 4 so its better than it was and 4 is fine if your not diabetic so I was told.

And

I am sure someone also said its the ratio that is important. Anyone enlighten me on that please

34 🙂

Yehey, lets get out that chocolate fudgecake (joke)

Fab @Gwynn ! You've worked hard for that. Glad to see you've got a result you'll be delighted with. Now chill and maintain 🙂

Chill and maintain. Sounds like a good motto.

Great results Gwynn.
The chocolate fudge cake doesn't have to be a joke - the fat in the chocolate will slow down the sugar absorption.
But feel free to celebrate with a stick of celery if you'd rather.

Although cocoa is a bean so that must count as a vegetable? 😉

I had a piece of flapjack to celebrate. I don't actually have any cakel

Fab result well done

Great results @Gwynn. Well done

Amazing result and very well deserved. Can’t help with the HDL and LDL as I can never understand it either! My total cholesterol has never been below 6 since I’ve been having it tested but apparently my HDL is good!

Hi, well done you!

What was your total cholesterol and do you know what your triglycerides are? I believe the ratio of HDL to trigs is one of the important factors for risk. Personally my total chol is always around 5.2 - 5.4 with high HDL and very low trigs. I'm happy with that.

Fantastic result.
Well done you

Hmm I didn't ask about triglycerides or the total score and they are not in the online recrds that I can see. I will ask next week when I have a feedback session with the nurse.
