Hi all

As anyone heard of read "the primal blueprint" by Mark Sisson?

A friend recommended I read it and leant me the book but unfortunately its been collecting dust! but wanted to get a diabetics view!

I follow mark on twitter and clicked on a link thy reminded me I still had the book!!

Thoughts would be appreciated

Here's a scientific viewpoint - it's nonsense.

The entire diet is based on the premise that you can reprogram your genes. This is scientifically impossible. You cannot change your DNA by eating particular foods, unless they happen to be particularly radioactive.

A quick google also shows (and isn't this a surprise?) that apparently, following the diet isn't enough. You should also buy lots of special magical Primal Blueprint antioxidants as well - why stop at buying the book, hey? Particularly when all this comes from the 'de-facto leader of the burgeoning primal/paleo/evolutionary health movement'. In other words, the self-appointed leader, and let's face it, shouldn't we all be deeply suspicious of anyone trying to portray eating less pizza as a 'movement'?

All this book will tell you is what you already know - stop eating processed food, maybe cut down on the starchy carbs a bit and swap those for fat. Have a read, pick up a few tips, but don't fall for what is ultimately just a pyramid marketing scam for the 2010s.
