Hi Diabetes UK Community,

The DISC (Digital Interventions for South Asians with Cardiometabolic disease) Study is looking for people from a South Asian background and for healthcare professionals to share their experience of digital healthcare in a short online survey.

The DISC Study is looking at inequalities in the use of digital health interventions, such as websites and phone apps, for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. You can learn more about the background to the DISC Study here: https://www.doctorasdatascientist.org/the-disc-study

We have launched a new online survey to understand how and why people from South Asian backgrounds use health technology for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. We really need to hear about your experiences with digital healthcare to understand how patient care in this area can be improved.

We are interested in hearing your experiences of digital health interventions if you are either:
  • An interested member of the public from a South Asian background.
  • An interested patient with diabetes and/or heart disease, from a South Asian background.
  • A professional working in the field of medicine, allied healthcare professions, healthcare commissioning or other fields relevant to digital health.
All participants will have a chance of winning a £50 retail voucher as a token of our thanks.

This survey has received ethics approval from the UCL Research Ethics Committee (ref 20413/001), and is taking place as part of a wider study funded by the NIHR (project ID: 200937). This post has kindly been approved for circulation on this board by @everydayupsanddowns.

Thank you for your time. I'm happy to answer questions, and I can share any updates on the project on this board as things progress.
