Relationship to Diabetes

This is a book that covers much more than diabetes. It sets out in detail how we came to be in the current dietary situation, starting as far back as William Banting. It should be required reading for medical students. Be warned it is not an easy read!

I agree with you. It's a very important book for diabetics, because it shows (in exhausting detail) just how the high carb low fat dogma came to be adopted in anglophone countries despite the lack of research to back it. It spells out very clearly the influence of the sugar and corn lobbies on the US surgeon general before he put out the 'healthy eating' guidelines in the 70 s. That was thirty years ago - thirty years of increasing obesity and a T2 diabetes epidemic!
