In 2010, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. They promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the York underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...The D-Team.
Well, not quite. But I am taking part in a high-wire 2-3 hour obstacle course this summer to raise money for JDRF.
Myself, and three of my friends are taking on the Go Ape Dalby Forest challenge. This course boasts the following: 6 sections, 37 crossings (totalling 888 metres). The highest point is 35 metres off the ground, and the longest zip wire is 250 metres. Yikes!
I have all the details on this page on my blog, where I'll be posting training updates (included what will undoubtedly be an 'interesting' first ever trip to a climbing wall), and videos.
This is going to be a huge, huge challenge for me, and I'm really hoping some of you will feel that this is a worthy challenge to support, and raise money for a wonderful charity.
If you feel you'd like to make a donation in support of the team, I have a Just Giving page, which you can find here. Any amount, of any size would be greatly appreciated towards our team goal of ?500.00.
If you can plug this event to your friends, family, and anyone else you think might be interested in what we're doing, please do. We've got a long way to go to reach our target!
