At risk of diabetes
Hi, I am new to this and trying a low carb diet due to various health issues. One being risk of type 2 diabetes.

I’m looking to a waffle maker for chaffles. Will any old waffle maker do, or is there a preferred model, type etc…

I’ve read about lots of disastrous attempts - so any advice for a starter would be great.

Thanks

I just chose a small one as that is what I needed - picked it on the internet. I never made waffles before so had nothing suitable for experimentation.
As long as it is allowed to heat up for the right length of time before pouring on the mixture it is fine. It is the same sort of concept as Yorkshire puddings.
The same mix, with perhaps a bit of water to make it runny can be used to make wraps in a frying pan.

Hi. The times I have made chaffle mix I have just poured it out into a smoking hot greased frying pan and made it into a pancake and used it as a wrap.
