The other day I decided to go for a long bike ride (off work this week and decided 10 miles would do) anyway on the way back I came across a friend whom I worked with years ago and occasionally went out with for a few beers. As I was nearing the end of my bike ride I had gathered up a sweat and was probably reddish in the face (need to get fitter) and my friend said that I looked whacked out and wondered if I was having a hypo and did I not need my insulin!😱 I politely said I was fine and if I was hypo the last thing I needed was insulin, after explaining we had a good laugh about it. Pleased that I never needed his assistance when I worked/socialised with him, I have visions of him sticking a insulin pen in my arm. but then I never did say to him what he should do in the event of me going hypo so cannot fault his misconception.
