Hi - I tried to test my BG levels on my machine. The same thing a little pic comes up. It's annoying I know the strips are over 3 months old, however I was trying to get the hang of it. It never seems to do the reading.....(Freestyle Lite). I am tempted to apply for another machine instead

Strips over three month old, do you mean three month out of date,?coz I have the same meter as you and I've been using my test strips four month and do on many occasions wit no bother

I should read it again I am sure it said once opened use within 3 months. I will have to get a new battery for it too. I just need to practice - I want to get the hang of it, then I will test myself occasionally in the mornings at first

I use that model too and haven't ever had a problem with it. Mind you, my strips never last that long, what's the use by date on the side of the pot say exactly? If they're outside that date then you need new strips not a new meter, if not then email Abbotts and explain the problem, they may send you a replacement meter.
