Having just read a book review by Dr Richard K Bernstien. It is intersting to note that he considered personal BG monitoring as a lifesaver in that it taught him what foods that were good for him, and which were not. I certainly WILL be testing my BG, regardless of what my GP advised. Again Many thanks for the encouragement guys. Now to cut down that bread.....

Rustee, I suspect if test strips were a penny a hundred then we'd all be advised to do it 🙄 Always test to learn something though, never 'just to see' if you are not going to use the information the test gives you. And don't overtest or be alarmed at the occasional higher than expected number - we all get them from time to time, regardless of how much we try to avoid them, and diabetes is a complex condition with many factors. Follow one of the many recommended guides, such as Test,Review, Adjust by Alan S:
