I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who comes on here.

I drifted away from actually posting a little while ago and only started again after the Poll highlighted how many of us sit in the shadows 🙂

I was feeling really rubbish about not getting the numbers I wanted despite working very hard, the impending doom of my upcoming HbA1c and generally feeling very hard done by being diabetic! I don?t know any one else with Type 1, there is no family history and as fantastically supportive as my family are, there is no way to explain to them just how much extra brain power it takes to get through a normal day. In short I was tired of it and as a result the effort I put in was decreasing and my control slowly going out the window.

Ive now been on everyday and have a renewed sense of purpose, even being able to laugh at my hopeless results from last week because the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched back on!

The friendliness and support that is offered by complete strangers never ceases to amaze me.

Thank You xx

Viki, you are very much a part of our community, and I am so pleased to see you back posting again! Let's hope those numbers soon become something you are proud of!🙂

aww viki how nice of you , thats what we are here for one another hun, glad your back posting x

Viki, you will no doubt be completely unaware that it was your energy for the pump which kept me going when things were rough for us trying to get E through the system as quickly as possible! I used to log on and look for your green signature. I'm so glad to see you back -- I missed you!

Take care. We're here. As a parent, I do have some idea what it takes, all the brain power and time, head space, etc...I am in deep admiration for those who have to and do persist on their own. It must be just hell sometimes.

Glad to see you in the green again though! Hang in.

Your right - this site is amazing - but its people like you who make it amazing - its not a one-way street! Your advice helps others too!:DBev

Well said Viki. This place is a lifeline, and I'm really grateful for it. I've started posting again after that poll too... I hope the light at the end of the tunnel keeps getting brighter and your numbers look better soon.

Thanks everyone - point proved i think! 🙂

xxxx

PS. Patricia - thank you so much for that. Youve made my day 😱

I totally agree with you viki I love this site and love the fact that someones always here to help and give support, I wish that I could be more knowlegable on diabetes 🙄 glad to see you back again x

Hi Viki,

Ive wanted to reply to this all day but couldn't skive off work long enough :D

I'm so glad you came back to the forum, people definitely noticed you weren't about and missed you! It does worry me when people disappear from here because I know how helpful and supportive this place is and that people who use this site are more likely to do better at controlling their condition (IMHO). Although our specialists and DSNs are very important, I know ive learnt more in the (nearly) year ive been on this site than the 4 years I spent on, what felt like, my own!
