I would like to thank everyone on this forum, on the 12th June 2024 I had some blood tests to check lots of different things after tiredness, I actually went to the Drs to be prescribed HRT as had everything removed two years ago after suffering womb cancer but had not yet been given any meds.

Well surprisingly everything came back normal apart from the diabetes which I didn't even realise was being done, it was 55.

Luckily or unluckily I got my results 3 weeks before I could get a drs appointment to explain them, so did the research myself. I came upon this forum spent hours reading and ordered within a day glucose machine and strips, and decided I needed to go on drastic change of lifestyle and diet.

So after arming myself from this and another forum I purchased books from different approaches , fast 800, kept, Etc
I decided to follow Newcastle but with meat added to salad and berries as well, with slimfast readymade shakes.
A bit of a change to the system as I will admit my previous diet was large packs of chocolate, fruit gums, and share size packs of crisps.

Well saw drs mid July and she agreed to see if this would work before putting me on register.

So after blood test yesterday I am down to 42 mols and have lost 10% of bodyweight just over 2 stone.

Thank you

Many congratulations on a fantastic result especially as it was achieved in a relatively short space of time. I would expect that your your HbA1c will continue to drop as that is under 2 months since you made changes and it would take 3 months for the full effect of those changes to be reflected in your HbA1c, so chances are that your next result will be in the 30s in you are able to maintain the changes you have made. I hope your Dr is suitably impressed and gives you a big pat on the back because you absolutely deserve it. WELL DONE!!

Thank you Rebrascora,

I have decide before hand to carry on the diet but in a not so extreme form, so as to lose most of my very excess weight. Hopefully then I can reintroduce things I like but in moderation and following the carb/ protein carb / fat meal ideas.

If nothing else it is allowing me to wear old clothes again and the tiredness has gone.

Brill on the diabetes front BUT - did you get the HRT prescribed? Loadsa ladies have no idea that without lady hormone, everything dries up and shrinks - and not just your skin and hair.
