Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes for K🙂

She had the operation on Tuesday morning and they were very pleased with how it went :D We stayed Tuesday night and she had a 24 hr vision test Wednesday morning - they were very pleased with that too! From not being able to read top letter of vision chart with left eye she can now read several lines down (except mistakes with tricky letters H/N D/O etc) She also has double vision and spots in front of her eyes , and sometimes colours are wrong - but this is getting better all the time too.
Now it's a case of working hard to heal the eye - we have some drops every two waking hours for 4 weeks, other drops 4 times a day 2 weeks. After 4 weeks the 2 hourly drops change to twice a day.

She is not happy about the drops or her eyes being bloodshot or no make up basically til 2nd eye done, and is still very tired, but there are glimpses of the 'old K' - especially good that she is moaning that it will be difficult to go put with friends if she has to have drops every two hours - she hadn't been out with a friend (or wanted to) since last August!

Anyway will post later about our adventures with diabetes/food/med staff whilst in hospital 🙂eek🙂 but just wanted to give update and say thank you. I hope all are OK as I have not had chance to read any posts.

Brilliant news!!! :D So glad there's been an immediate improvement, especially delighted that K wants to get out & about again, bless her! The drops are a pita but worth it...i seem to remember the obes from the fridge were a bit stingy, eek! 😱 Hopefully with daily improvements in vision the weeks will fly by. Thank you for updating us - I've been wondering how it all went! Best wishes to You & K! Xxx

Fantastic news for you both. I have been looking on here every few hours for some news. I am sure in a few days K will be over the moon with the results. Of course it's not cool to have bloodshot eyes at her age and no make up??? Poor girl - she has my sympathy!

Here's hoping every day brings better and better results. Well done to both of you.

Tina
