Just wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice re my new toy. The BP monitor. My BP is weird, throughout the day it is consistently high normal and later in the evening it is consistently ideal. Need to transfer some of the evening chill to the day! Wonder how GPs make any decision, on a patient's BP unless it is really obvious? But thanks for the help. Next step to keep my torn ligament in shape is an exercise bike. Too nervous to be on the open road. Any suggestions about bike. Most seem to be self-assemble, is it easy to do?

About 20 years ago I wore a 24hour BP machine that the nurse then downloaded the information at the GP surgery.

Good to hear @Sharron1

Good luck with your exercise bike shopping... I’ve tweaked the thread title to try to get you a few more ideas from exercise bike owners 🙂

Only thought about exercise bikes is that I have about all mechanical things. You get what you pay for. The trick is to pay enough to get something that will do the job. Suggest you go to a shop that specialises in selling them, try a few out and listen to what the owner has to say. A decent shop will build it, set it up for you and deliver it. Might cost you a bit more than something that looks the same on the internet but by doing that you are more likely to get something that you will be using for years rather than something you might use a couple of times before confining it to the back of the garage.

Smallest Madeline got an exercise bike delivered just prior to lockdown - I assembled it, it was pretty simple. It’s a very basic one, an Ultrasport, says ‘F-bike ‘Heavy’ black’, but it does stuff like calories burned and most importantly the seat is comfortable. I reckon if I can assemble it, anyone can tbh cos my spatial awareness is rubbish!
