5.30am I checked BG twice and it was 11.7 and 11.3 I considered doing a correction but thank goodness I didn't!!
7am 7.0 and I checked it twice

Have you changed your pattern Amanda? Or are you still running at 70% of what it was previously?

Do you have a 'spare' pattern you could use to experiment with a reduced basal without running a tbr? Might make it easier to make changes?

Hi Mike I'm not using a TBR. This is at the 70% basal which the nurse set up as programme 2 last Friday with the slight changes that I made the other day when it was going up during the night. The first day of those changes it stayed steady. Two weeks ago, before the problems started, I was on 28 unit basal.i then made changes which reduced it to 27 and the nurse then reduced it to 70%. After the slight changes the other day it is 19.6 units for the basal. I'm not sure whether to change it again or wait until I see the consultant on Monday.

Ah OK... sorry, hadn't realised!

Well it looks like you are still dropping overnight doesn't it? I would be quite tempted to tweak it down a bit and then have that info to discus with Consultant. That way if turning basal down is their suggestion (and you've tried that and know it doesn't work) you can discuss other possible routes?

Thanks Mike you weren't to know. The confusion is that for the first 5 days on the 70% basal I was rising during the night hence why I made the very slight changes to increase the basal. I just don't know what to do for the best. I guess I just need to find out what is at the root cause of these erratic sugars because basal testing isn't showing any patterns.

You have my sympathies. I've had that ALL October. Up a bit one week... down a bit the next!

Very frustrating - especially coming out of 3-4 months of decent stability (or perhaps just a long string of lucky guesses!)
