Any suggestions of things to avoid?! I've done as much research as I can but this will be my first dinner out on basal/bolus and I'm hoping to be spot on first time! (a girl can dream).

So, if anyone knows of things that might catch me out any info appreciated 🙂 Thanks in advance!

Hmm, beware of rice! A table spoon of rice is about 10g carbs, but if I end up eating a lot of rice then i'll split the dose 60% up front and 40% 2 hours later as rice can take a long time to absorb.

Also carb content of sauces can vary a lot - I'd guess about 10g carbs for a thai curry etc but something like sweet and sour can be about 20-30g.

Keep a record and if it's not great BG wise think about what you could change next time - unfortunately trial adn error is the only way!

Enjoy your dinner and don't aorry about perfect BG levels!

On a meal out I would sometimes bolus some up front then do a correction later as the food may take some time to come between courses, plus it means you don't inject too much at the start and end up not eating enough. Enjoy your meal! 🙂
