Surgery have changed my repeat script to 200 strips in 8 weeks.

Now my sums 4 daily x 7 days in one week x 8 weeks = 224 and that is a minimum!!!!!!!

Called the hospital and the DSN there is going to call the surgery.

Watch for sparks

Ho frustrating Hazel!

Hope you can get this resolved without too much faff or stress.

'nothing about us without us' eh?!

Annoying :( As far as I know they aren't supposed to place any restrictions on insulin users such as yourself, I am sure your DSN will sort it out for you 🙂

Speaking of 'nothing about us without us', my surgery have just written to me saying they are replacing my needles from 6mm novofine 31g to 4mm Omnican 32g because of CCG prescribing guidelines. I've only ever used the novofine ones and am happy with them, so if the new ones don't match up then they will be getting a stern letter from me 😱

Ooo, keep a close eye, we were changed to these about 2 years ago for same reason, cheap and nasty, managed to get mine changed back after an increase in bruising and slight lumpiness starting to develop. Another change to CCG guidelines a few months ago to Neon Verifine. The thread on the outer cap is sometimes a bit dodgy and needs an effort to screw on, but the business end seems as good as BD
so happy so far to stick with these.

@Hazel, as a T2 insulin user, I get 150 in 4 weeks, so far no issues, but I check with breath held every month that it hasn't been reduced.

Oh no Hazel, hope they can sort this out ASAP for you, I remember when I was first diagnosed I called the DSN as the doctors were only giving me 50 at a time! 😱

Bruce just got a prescription last Friday and they've changed his brown inhaler (I'm assuming to a cheaper variation) but it says it contains exactly the same amount of medication etc
xx

Och @Northerner, and I think it will only get worse.

I tried to sort it out with the practice assist mgr, who was rude and as helpful as a chocolate teapot.

Been to pharmacy to pick up meds. Due to manufacturer issues, only 100 strips, for now, and the lancets will take longer.
I think manufacturers are holding back so they can up the price

I have called my hospital DSN and she is going to call surgery
