raised ALT/AST & GGT above higher limit, not a clue what they meanI always have abnormal liver function tests but I have a condition called Gilberts Syndrome so it's to be expected. Have they said which bits of the tests are abnormal?
Well done on that HbA1c drop. You can check out the liver function tests here:-raised ALT/AST & GGT above higher limit, not a clue what they mean
That must have been a big shock to your various systems - I would advise not to worry, just wait and see if things sort themselves out. I had a test at 6 months, so not long to wait if your surgery is on the same page.hi, just had my first blood test results since being diagnosed 3 months ago.
HBAC1 is down from 81 to 40
cholesterol is ok
however liver function is abnormal, so now more blood tests and a scan, anyone else have these issues.
hi, not on statins, they offered them on diagnosis but i declined, changed diet lost some weight and cholesterol levels came down, so i'm ok at the momentMy fatty liver issues disappeared when I lost weight and got my hba1c into "normal" range. However, I was then put onto statins a couple of years ago, and the fatty liver has re-surfaced. Are you on any statins @shelley25. Best of luck with your tests and scan x
thankyouWell done on the terrific HbA1c reduction @shelley25
Good to hear that your cholesterol check has come back on target.
Hopefully your liver results will settle down, and the follow-up scans will offer reassurance, or a positive way forward 🙂

My metabolism altered a lot during the first year as it recovered from the hammering it got as I tried to follow the usual advice on eating for decades before diagnosis.
My HbA1c went from 91 to 47 at the first retest, then to 41 at 6 months, so it certainly looks as though you are on track for a return to normality.
