Tesco to remove sweets and chocolate from check outs in small stores (Metro and Express). Sweets and chocolates were removed from check outs in large stores 20 years ago. Also removing sweets and chocolates from children's eye levels. Aiming to encourage customers to make healthier, lower calorie choices.

Article also mentions policies by Lidl, Co Op, Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencers.

That isn't a bad idea at all to be fair. I know alot of people only tend to buy sweets if it is in front of them. If they have to go and hunt for sweets they won't.

Thank beep for that! It's not only kids that are tempted!😱🙄

Oh yes, the number of times I've been in T's or the Co-op waiting in the queue and staring at all the chocolate. I'm a good girl, mostly, but if they were no longer there to tempt me, I would be much better behaved. If I'm shopping I usually avoid going down the sweetie aisle unless I need more jelly babies, but with things sitting there at checkout, well, they sometimes jump into the basket on their own don't they?
