A Workington supermarket has smashed its £10,000 fund-raising target on World Diabetes Day.
Tesco is a charity partner of Diabetes UK and Workington community champion Alison Smith set the New Bridge Road store its target last year.
The feat was accomplished with a wide range of fund-raising events including sponsored cycle rides, fancy dress characters coming into the store and charity stalls, offering items handmade by Alison herself, at children’s parties.
A Halloween charity night was also organised at the town’s John Street Club.
