Lavender oil works for me (but that's just for the usual run-of-the-mill headaches) rubbed into the temples and on the tip of your nose so you can smell it - especially good at night so you go to sleep in a lovely haze of lavender. Hope someone can come up with a more logical answer for you which helps.

What do you typically take for them? If you haven't already aspirin may be better than things like neurofen or panadol. They seem to take the edge off of mine typically!

Claire.

I suffer with tension headaches I take Paracetamol. I use to take Ibuprofen, but doctor stopped me because I am on Aspirin.

Not sure if it would work for a tension headache, or even if it's practical timewise etc for you, but fir the first couple of weeks post vitrectomy op whwn i had head/eye aches i found listening to an audiobook on quietly gave me something to concentrate on other than the pain & helped me relax. I really hope you feel better soon! Xx

thanks everyone i had been using paracetamol which didnt touch it, dr suggested ibuprofen which helped but not for too long as you can get rebound headache from painkillers... i love tiger balm and that works for normal headached so will try the lavender thing too
