LAWYERS fighting for victims of Britain?s biggest hospital scandal may bring cases against TEN more NHS Trusts accused of neglecting elderly patients.
They are investigating claims that 86 pensioners were victims of ?horrific? blunders on UK wards similar to those at the notorious Stafford Hospital.
Cases include OAPs who died after routine procedures such as hernia operations.
Others say they suffered *dehydration because nurses left drinks out of reach. Pensioners also complained they had been left in dirty sheets and claim nurses told them to soil their beds because they were too busy to take them to a toilet.
The Sunday Mirror was passed the disturbing details by Leigh Day, the law firm which handled most cases at Stafford Hospital ? where up to 1,200 patients died through blunders between 2005 and 2009.
A report into the scandal this week is expected to uncover the most serious set of failings ever seen in the health service. In nearly half of the new cases the NHS has accepted blame and faces paying more than ?400,000 compensation.
