Family doctors will be forced to publish details of their earnings online, it was announced yesterday.

Each practice will be told to reveal the average earnings of its GPs by March 2016. Although individual salaries will not be published, it will give patients a much better idea of how much their doctor is taking home.

Family doctors who are partners in their surgeries earn an average of £102,000 a year – and one in ten earns more than the Prime Minister’s salary of £142,500.

Well why can't **ing politicians, bankers, CEOs, wealthy pensioners and everyone else be party to the same rule
In fact the lowest paid could also be made to reveal the same informations- this would be very informative that working poverty is alive and well

I agree. I don't see why a group of people who have a vocation to help others should be somehow singled out for vilefication yet it's portrayed that all these so-called 'industry specialists and wealth creators' shouldn't be frightened away by the slightest encroachment on their obscene incomes - time after time these people have been exposed as crooks and fraudsters with greed and power at the heart of all their endeavours :(

I can't see how this can help anyone. Some people will just use the information to bash Drs over the head when they have a disagreement with their Dr. Don't Dr have a write to protect their personal information?
