To be honest i don't know whats good for me and whats not, what i can snack on and what i can't its all still very confusing. I've come across a few things that i believe are ok for me but i just want to be as careful as possible.

What snacks would you reccommend???

I'm a big fan of nuts as a snack! Most of them are very good for you as they contain very little carbs and also have 'good' fats. Walnuts and almonds are supposed to be particularly good, although I enjoy dry-roasted peanuts - they seem to take the edge off my hunger quickly as they are high in protein. The only problem can be that they are also quite high calorie.

It's also worth looking at high quality, high cocoa-content dark chocolate if you fancy something sweet. A couple of squares can be sufficient to satisfy a sugar craving, but will have little impact on your blood glucose levels (as long as you stop at two squares!). Oatcakes are fairly low carb generally, but check the packaging before buying. Any protein - e.g. cold meats, or cheese are good too 🙂
