Isabelle Miller says diabetes doesn't define her.
And, she adds, there's nothing more annoying than having other people define her by the illness.
"It's a part of who I am," says the 13-year-old Fayetteville native. "But I never want it to be the first thing people think when they see me."
So, when Isabelle joins an expected crowd of more that 1,000 runners, joggers and walkers for the inaugural Red Apple Run/Walk for Diabetes downtown, she hopes people will see her activity as a symbol that you can have diabetes and still live well.
