So I love tapas, and in particular cafe andaluz. I always get the same 3 dishes but they don't provide carb info for their food. So basing the portions on a standard tapas plate, what do you reckon the carbs would be in these 3 dishes..

Patatas Gratinas - layered sliced potatoes baked in garlic cream and mozzarella.

Chorizo y butiferra negra - sauteed chorizo sausage and black pudding in spicy tomato sauce.

Vieras con Serrano- seared king scallops with basil, creamed leeks and crisp Serrano ham.

I have the carbs and cals app, but just curious so see what you would all bolus for these 3 dishes, based on the standard 1:10 ratio.

In my case, it’s how many Creon to swallow with all that fat, and then guesstimate how long the carbs in the spuds and cream will hang around to affect my BG. The 1:10 ratio is a distant memory.

All sounds delicious, mind🙂

First one - imagine how many 'egg sized' spuds have been sliced to create that portion cos they are 10g carb each, however with cream and cheese, that will slow the carbs down no end so if you pre-bolus for ALL the carb you'll be hypo before the carbs arrive.

Very little for the second one and even less for the third.

Far as I'm concerned tapas only happens in Spain since you don't pay for it, it just comes free with the beer - so my consumption of tapas has always been restricted by my capacity for cerveza!
