Well my daughter woke up at 3am. Unknown reasons. Then demands juice(water only at bedtime). That's it, she went crazy. Then she needs light on 'to play with my toys' explained its bedtime she needs to go back to sleep, took 10 mins of reasoning with her and I won. Her head hits pillow, shes gone, fast asleep. Great. Get into bed, shaky, very hot and funny lips. Ace. 3.1, so Zthat's our first ever tantrum related hypo. Thanks Jemima.

Still love you completely but at nearly 3 years, she's proof you never ever get over diabetic pregnancy :D even out of your body children induce hypos!

Aw! Perhaps she knew you were dropping low? :D I suppose it's hard for someone who's 3 to understand that she's supposed to try and go back to sleep if they wake up in the night! Will add that to my list of possible hypo causes, although it's something I am unlikely to experience personally! Hope you managed to get some rest.

Thanks for sharing your story. - I have thought about what it's going to be like having to deal with a screaming baby and having a hypo..... Not looking forward to it !!!

Maybe you were already low and her waking up did you a favour? 🙂

My son never wakes up when hypo - I have found many hypos when testing him in his sleep. Also, when we have been on holiday and his bed has been in the same room as mine, I have sometimes been woken by him tossing and turning in restless sleep, and when I've tested him he's been out of range, either high or low. But I wouldn't hear him from his bedroom at home.

Toddler tantrums just make me laugh - they can be such unreasonable little people! I have a photo of my son aged two lying sparko on the landing in just a nappy, surrounded by a chaos of toys, overturned laundry basket and strewn clothes. He had been insisting he wasn't tired and wouldn't get into bed, and after a number of visits upstairs to settle him back down I'd closed the upstairs stairgate and left him to it. Furious wailing and taking off of clothes ensued! Ten minutes later and he was stretched on the carpet fast asleep! But not in his bed, so his will prevailed I suppose!

Hypos and kids are ways fun. Okay if you home, hard if you walk to the park without the pram and need to get back home. It's okay now she knows I need to eat with a hypo.

When they are babies you can't eat a snack and they don't mind then they get to that age when you can't have a snack without them needing one to so you have to take double snacks 🙂 now she understands it so it's okay .

Hypos and little babies are okay they can be safe and happy without you holding them and now she's nearly 3 I can give her something to entertain her is say 8-18 months is hardest as they want you most :/
