My dad is currently in hospital again and his diabetes levels are fluctuating. The hospital staff can't get it under control even after 3 weeks. Does anyone take metformin and insulin?
Shedloads of T2s, do - also if T1s happen to become insulin resistant for whatever reason, the metformin can help them too!
When you say 'the hospital staff' - is this the ward staff of whatever ward he's on, or the diabetes consultant and/or diabetes specialist nurses, who can't?
To add to what Jenny just asked, if it's the ward staff - ask (by which I mean politely insist) that a diabetes specialist nurse comes to see your dad when you are there, and advises not only both of you but also the ward staff.
