Okay Friday night is takeaway night. How good or bad is Chinese for the old blood glucose levels? If its really bad.....what about Indian? 😎

Chinese isn't particularly kind to blood glucose levels.

Neither option is great, but if you forego the rice, naan, prawn crackers and such, you might get away with it. I've had a tandoori without going sky-high but once you start adding sauces... Let's just say... OOPS!

Hi Cat, there are a few things you could go for that wouldn't be too awful, though there isn't anything truly wonderful. The problem really is with the rice/noodles/extras. How about one of these...

Chinese: Beef or chicken with mushrooms, and swap the rice for stir-fried beansprouts.
Indian: Tandoori mixed grill with vegetable curry instead of the usual extras.

Of course you could improve on the carb count of these by making your own, but (a) you're poorly, and (b) it's takeaway night for goodness sake!

Hope you find something you like.

I could do the chicken and mushroom and stir fry my own bean sprouts as I keep a good supply in the house. They have become a staple since my diagnosis. All is not quite lost :D

I settled for salt n pepper chicken wings with a side order of bean sprouts. A bit high on the salt side but not so bad on the BG :D
