Hi folks, I had two steroid injections in my knees, bg showing roughly double what I would normally have, I knew this would probably happen, but does anyone know how I might get it down. Can`t do any kind of exercise for 48 hrs. Suspect I`ll just have to weather it out but if anyone has any pearls of wisdom I would be very grateful. Thanks Steve.

The only thing you can do is put less glucose into your system by eating less carbs. If you already eat low carb (ie less than 50g carbs a day) then there is probably not a lot you can do.

Steroid injections in joint capsules affect blood sugars for about 10 days and I would be more than surprised if your bloods didn't keep on increasing over the next few days.
Personally I would not have more than one joint done at a time due to the increase in blood sugars.

Hope you feel improvement in your knees @CornishDowser, and your BGs begin to settle soon

Thank you. You`re basically confirming what I thought, but given the amount of relief the jabs deliver I am prepared to ride the increase, at least it`s constant over that time and doesn`t cause any spikes, + I get 6 mths pain free, I don`t do pain very well 🙂
