Hi all, I'm Marsha and 68 years old.

Until 7 years ago I was on Metformin and Gliclazide.
In 2017 I went to the drs because my bs and heart rate raised considerably. I was diagnosed with a uti and was given the usual antibiotics.
However, the infection got out of control (I was told after I should have been given at least double the course of antibiotics being diabetic) and over the course of nearly a year I ended up in hospital requiring 3 operations and 1 proceedure resulting in receiving 3 pints of blood, ending up with sepsis and an ileostomy. Also I was put on Nova Rapid and Lantus (long story short- phew).
I will have some questions to ask but I will save those for another day!

Welcome @MazzyRaz 🙂 That sounds awful. I hope things are better now and you’re feeling more yourself.

Ask away. No question is silly or too trivial.

Welcome to the forum @MazzyRaz

Goodness what an awful time you’ve had recently!

So sorry to hear how things escalated for you and resulted in such serious illness :(

Fire away with your questions and the friendly folks here will offer their shared experiences and support 🙂

Hello there @MazzyRaz and welcome to the forum. It's heartbreaking to hear what's happened to you and I hope everything's better now.
