This isn't relevant to me, for obvious reasons, but it may be an opportunity for someone interested in T1 research, and recently diagnosed.
The article posted doesn't give any indication of the specific qualification criteria, but my experience as a research participant is researchers will be very happy to hear from folks interested in their research, even if they don't qualify, or decide against taking part.
For anyone interested, I'd suggest getting in touch. Again, my personal experience is research participants are extremely well looked after, and I have found participation in the studies I have to be very rewarding.
