Hi Laura...I may never be 40 again but I'd love my Hba1c to never go beyond 40! 😉

Good to see you're moving in the right direction....keep up the good progress! 🙂

Hello Laura. Keep up the good work and moving in the right direction. My last three HbA1c's (that's all I can remember) were 56, 49 and 52. As for diabetic goals well, it's to keep levels as close to normal as possible, stay healthy and hope there is a cure. :D

hopefully one maybe be a cure but with the knowledge today and types of insulin and pumps its as good as .. I'm on the DAFNE this week and already learned so much such a great course .. really does help x

Hi Laura (again!) 🙂 Definitely moving in the right direction. One thing that I found really helped was injecting my novorapid at least 15 minutes before eating - do you do this? What I discovered was that before, when I was injecting just be fore I ate, I was getting a big spike in blood sugar levels an hour or two later. This was because the food I had eaten had started to raise my blood sugar levels before the insulin had really got working. By injjecting 15-30 minutes before eating, the insulin gets a chance to start peaking at around the same time as the food, so you get much less of a peak. This can really help you to reduce your HbA1c, so worth trying 🙂 You need to be careful to begin with - maybe start with 5 minutes and test one or two hours after eating. Once you have built up some experience you will find out what works best for you. I actually found that I can inject 45 minutes before eating at breakfast, 20-30 minutes before lunch and 15-20 minutes before evening meal 🙂

Everyone hates me here because my HbA1c is always good 😱 😉 My last one was 34 mmol/mol and the one before that was 31 mmol/mol 🙂 It was 106 mmol/mol when I was diagnosed 😱

I was just going to ask you if you'd done a DAFNE course! 🙂 Good to hear it's helping you 🙂

hi again lol yes I have found my sugar levels spike for example today before dinner my BG was 12.9 I carb counted correctly injected also with a correction 3 hours laterthey was 14.6 I was so disheartened about this reading .. maybe I will try injecting 10-15 mins before I eat .. your HbA1c is really good lol .. keep up the good work x

Only heard good things about the DAFNE courses although never had the opportunity to do one myself.

Well done for doing that course. You are never to old to learn & is good for anyone. Welcome to the forum & have a look at "NUC" diabetes because I know they are fighting for a cure 😎 Ps I did that course years ago & enjoyed
