In the thread below some of you may already know I'm currently having very bad bs results.
http://www.diabetessupport.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=31745

I have to admit I had just 1 x chewy toffee on halloween night but felt very very guilty afterwards :(.

What I wanted to know is if I wanted the very odd treat during my bad time and did the insulin dose for the CHO content of the 'odd treat' would this be very dangerous in my situation? I would be only having the 'odd treat' at a meal time and including the insulin dose either with my meal or injecting a couple more units after my meal.

Thanks in advance for any replies 🙂

That is the theory anyway!

Hope you manage to make some more progress on your levels soon!

When I went on the DAFNE course in Septmber they said we could ANYTHING (from a diabetic perspective) as long as we inject the appropriate insulin for the carbohydrates.

Can't comment about injecting, but do know we need treats. I have been told that if we want sweets or cakes or biscuits, the effect is lessened after a meal but that is from a non insulin type 2 perspective.
