PLEASE could anyone help with info on a type of sweetner that doesn't taste disgusting and leave the horrible aftertaste? I'm looking for a cordial, I must drink 8-9 glasses of juice a day and it's obviously affecting my sugar levels. But I just can't stomach sweetners!! Any advice would be appreciated

Have you tried Robinson’s no added sugar squashes ?
For a sweetener in my coffee I use Silver spoon granulated sweetener, I can’t tell the difference between it and sugar, it’s fine in drinks but not suitable for cooking . It can be difficult to find though, I get mine from Sainsbury’s .

I have canderel in my coffee. Tastes fine to me.

I have no problems with the Robinson's no added sugar squashes either.

Is no added sugar squash sugar free? I’ve avoided since diagnosed as assume as a fruit juice drink it still had sugar in

Well, if you choose Innocent fruit drinks with no “added” sugar, they contain more sugar by weight than full fat Coca-Cola. Fact.

What's it say on the label Grogg, under carbs? Sugar doesn't really matter of itself in small amounts as long as we take the actual carbs into account.

I doubt it's totally sugar free...there's not much that is! But it must be better? And natural sugar's are ok in moderation? Balanced diet and all that

Thank you to everyone for info. I've gone for a Robinson's cordial, finger's crossed I can get along with it?

Most of them are very low in fruit juice and hence sugar!

Need to read bottle next time I’m in supermarket. I main drink water, tea and wine!!! I used to have black currant squash in summer as I think it’s a nice thirst quencher . My daughter is the only squash drinker and I’ve always discouraged the use of diet drinks with artificial sweeteners since reading 20+ years ago that they caused brain tumours in rats. One of my sisters always drank her Bacardi with normal coke as she too believed diet drinks were unsafe. Sadly though my sister developed a brain tumour so now I have the odd Diet Coke if out.

I looked at Vimto squash and virtually no carbs so I made a glass and took a sip and threw it away! A year of not drinking and now I hate squash!

Natural sugars are no better than any other type of sugar. It will still send your blood glucose levels high. With fruit, berries are best (lowest sugar) & tropical fruit is the worst (highest sugar). Also, if you do eat fruit, eat them whole & not juiced as juicing removes the fibre which speeds up the carbs.
