Surrey was among the worst performing areas in England for delivering the NHS Health Check, according to a new report from Diabetes UK.
The new report, Let?s Get it Right, highlighted that during 2011-12, just 1 per cent of those eligible in the area were offered the checks, which test people aged 40 to 74 for risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and kidney failure.
The average across England was 13.9 per cent and the poor performance continued into the new financial year, with just 0.1 per cent of people being checked between April and June 2012.
