Well, I've not only been stressing about the actual blood taking of my blood test but also the result of my hba1c as the last one was 9.1 just before my hip surgery in November and my day to day readings seem to have got worse not better apart from the last couple of weeks so I was expecting it to have gone up... I nearly fell off my chair when my DSN told me it was 7.6 this morning!!! Still some way to go to get it below 7 but it's going in the right direction which gives me some hope, and feels like all the hard work isn't totally unnoticed :D Is anyone else ever surprised by their hba1c?

Have a good Friday everyone!

xx

yay!!!!! well done!

Oh yes, frequently. If you look at the numbers in my siggy you'll see why. It's been a real roller coaster ride. I seem to have my meds right now though so I reckon my next one will be a vast improvement. My app is predicting 5.5% for the moment but I think it'll be higher than that. You'll have to scrape me off the floor if it's correct.

Congratulations on a good result. You're clearly heading in the right direction.

Terrific result Vix, really pleased for you! 🙂 Definitely heading in the right direction!

Well done Vix, its a great feeling when you here news like that 🙂

thanks everyone 🙂 not many people understand what a good thing this is when I've been dedicating my life to getting it down (or so it seems like) and it's only a number but an important number, especially if we want to try for a family!

Alison, I'd be seriously impressed if yours was 5.5, the lowest I've ever known anyone have is 6.2 and that's my brother 😉

xx

I know, it's highly unlikely. 😱 I'd guess somewhere in the sixes is more realistic. 😎

Great news, well done! 🙂

Well done, shows the hard work is paying dividends!

I take it all back... my sugars weren't too bad this morning, and 8.2 before lunch but 2 hours after they were 14.6 and I felt really 'foggy' and tired so checked ketones at 1.5! Then was going out so checked about 45 mins later before I set off and they'd gone up to 18.9 so I did correction dose of 3 untis... and 2 hours after that they're now 16.7 and ketones of 4!!!! My body doesn't know what it wants right now... surely the 3 units should have brought it down more than 1.2????

Xx

Fantastic Hba1c well done.

You must be so sick of strange results though - and the ketones. Did you get any advice today at your appointment? It wouldn't be right to comment on one days readings alone but something certainly needs adjusting.
