Surprise HbA1c

I was at the GP practice yesterday for something completely non diabetes related. By chance they mentioned a number. Turns out they'd sneaked a HbA1c test past me last November, and the result was 57. Up from 46-48 I'd been at before.

They sneak up on me when I've been getting a bit too complacent, I've always discovered over decades, Ralph. Of course - I only realise that after the event with the 20/20 vision that only seems to materialise with hindsight as far as I'm concerned!

Got my next one at the beginning of Feb - so I better start being a bit 'good' again from right now! (Jennifer! - this is your mother speaking from beyond the grave - I will NOT tell you again! Drop the cake, carb count and bolus more diligently and immediately stop making excuses not to basal test!) Yes mom.
