My friend is overweight and goes to slimming world

I was looking for diabetic specific face to face support groups ?

Or do most people find this fab bunch of people is enough ?
 
I think that probably depends person to person!

There’s something great about the anonymity of a forum, and the fact that you can either lurk and observe, or wade right in!

Plus we have people from all over, and in various countries, with different sleep patterns, so there are folks online almost all the time!

But online communication can be tricksy, and misses out on all the visual cues, body language, facial expression and tone of voice, which can make misunderstandings more likely.

Diabetes UK have a searchable local group list here

We hold a monthly ‘virtual‘ meetup via Zoom…

and we are hoping that occasional forum face-to-face meetups can begin again soon.

So there are a few options 🙂
